Which Current CBJ Player Could Win The 2024 Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest?

If you've never seen the Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest, some would say you're missing out. Others will tell you to turn the TV off because it's disgusting. To each his own I guess. But the contest will look a little different this year, as Joey Chestnut, the king of Hot Dog eating, who goes by the nickname "Jaws", won't be allowed to participate due to being banned. Major League Eating won't allow him in this year's competition due to a brand deal he signed with Impossible Foods, calling it a "sponsor conflict."

So with all that being said, here are the results from the CBJ fans who voted on who would win the Hot Dog Eating Contest if Blue Jackets players were involved.

Mathieu Olivier

Olivier was voted as being the one who would "beat up" the competition by taking a whopping 59.9% of the vote. Being someone who will fight anyone on the ice if the time is right, Olivier seems to be the one who would intimidate his fellow hot dog eaters by simply flexing on them and staring into their souls, causing them to turtle in defeat. The Biloxi Bulldog wins this in a landslide. Something tells me he would challenge Joey Chestnut for the record.

Trey Fix-Wolansky

At 5-foot-7 and 191 lbs, you'd never know that TFW is an absolute wrecking ball just by reading his physical attributes. But get him on the ice and it's another story. He's not afraid to get in the middle of a scrum that's for sure, and he has a ton of energy. Fix-Wolansky finished with 24.5% of the vote. I'm honestly shocked he didn't get more votes.

Adam Fantilli

Fantilli only got 10.1% of the votes. He's fresh out of college and just seems like he could pack some hot dogs into that 6-foot-2, 192 lb body of his. He's young so his metabolism has to be high right? Surely he could eat his body weight in hot dogs. I mean, who didn't eat a pack of hot dogs by themselves at a cookout when they were 19?

Gavin Brindley

Brindley only got 5.5% of the votes. Again, like Fantilli he's fresh out of college and probably lived on hot dogs during his two years at Michigan. Like Fix-Wolansky, he's smaller than Olivier and Fantilli, but could probably motivate himself like he does on the ice. At 5-foot-9 and 175 lbs, I'm sure people told him his whole life he couldn't make it to the NHL, and he proved them wrong. So I'm guessing he could sneak up on Olivier and TFW in this challenge.

Dmitri Voronkov - Write-In Winner

Voronkov is 6-foot-5, 240 lbs. He's 100% all beef, just like Nathan's Hot Dogs. Although he wasn't in this competition, he could easily bust down the door and decide that he would participate. Although not as physical a player as some would like, he could change that next season and could challenge Olivier for the title. If Olivier and Voronkov were on the stage in a hot dog-eating challenge, it's doubtful anyone else would want to go up against the two of them. Together they could be a force, with many hoping it's that way on the ice next season.
