In a thrilling OT win over the Philadelphia Flyers last night, Columbus Blue Jackets defenseman Zach Werenski had a pair of assists.

One of those assists help spring Kent Johnson and Adam Fantilli on the winning breakaway.

In the process, Werenski tied one of his own records.

Per NHL PR, Werenski matched his own record of 8 assists, set in 16-17, and Ivan Provorov's 8 assists set in 23-24, for the most assists by a CBJ defenseman through the first 10 games of a season.

In the first 10 games this season, Werenski has 8 assists and 8 points. No, he has yet to score a goal, but it's not for lack of trying. Going into last night, he was leading the team in shots and has been pushing play a lot more offensively.

His goals will come, but if we're being honest, I would prefer someone else score the goals, and Werenski have 65-70 assists.

There's nothing to worry about when it comes to Zach Werenski's production.
