The Dallas Stars head to TD Garden in Boston to wrap up a quick two game road trip.

After a loss to the Buffalo Sabres, the Dallas Stars wrap up a two game road trip tonight in Boston against the perennial Eastern Conference playoff team.

The Stars only two losses this season have been on the road, and both have been to Eastern Conference teams. After tonight, Dallas heads back home to play the Chicago Blackhawks before taking the long flight to Europe in preparation to play in the NHL Global Series against the Florida Panthers in Tampere, Finland.

The Stars are looking to redeem themselves after a 4-2 loss to the Buffalo Sabres on Tuesday night. Trailing 3-0, the Stars almost rallied for a third period comeback after scoring two goals when they pulled the goalie, but eventually fell short.

The Bruins are also looking to get back into the win column after getting shut out 4-0 by the Nashville Predators. That was Nashville's first win of the season and the first time Boston has been shut out. Boston is currently on a two game losing streak, and after a bit of a rocky start under former Stars head coach Jim Montgomery, they are only 3-3-1.

What to watch for:

  • Tyler Seguin, who missed three games due to injury, scored his third goal in four games played this year. The former Bruin was traded to Dallas 11 years ago, but it still feels like a big part of the storyline when he returns to Boston each season.
  • The power-play has been on a noticeable drought since the beginning of the season. The Stars currently sit tied for 29th on the power-play with a 9.5% success rate. Head coach Pete DeBoer shuffled the units around in all three power-plays against Buffalo.
  • Mavrik Borque comes out of the lineup and Oskar Back draws in. Borque has been unfortunately ineffective since his return from a preseason injury, and Back has come very close to scoring in his prior two games played.
  • Jeremy Swayman starts in goal for Boston tonight. Swayman received an eight year deal worth $66 million only a few days before Oettinger signed his contract with identical numbers.

Robertson-Hintz-Johnston
Marchment-Duchene-Seguin
Benn-Stankoven-Dadonov
Steel-Back-Blackwell

Dumba-Heiskanen

Lines are subject to change, as DeBoer announced at morning skate that there are a couple game-time decisions.

Puck drop is at 6 p.m. CDT and can be seen on Victory+ locally and ESPN+ in out of market areas.
