The Dallas Stars and Colorado Avalanche will collide once again tonight as they pick up the series in Game Three. The Stars are coming off a spectacular win in overtime in Game Two that saw them tie the series. The Stars will now have the tough task of picking up a win in the Ball Arena, something they failed to do this past regular season.
The Stars head into tonight's tilt riding high after Collin Blackwell sent them home on Monday night with an game-winning goal in overtime to tie the series. The Stars will now have to keep that momentum tonight in front of a hostile crowd in Colorado. Dallas failed to pick up a win this season in the two games played in the Ball Arena, but the Dallas can hang their hat on the success they had last postseason, in which they picked up two wins there en route to the Western Conference Finals.
The Stars will carry the same lineup and lines as Game 2, along with, hopefully, the same energy. The Stars smothered the Avalanche with their controlled physical play while applying constant pressure to goaltender Mackenzie Blackwood. Will will wonder, with the pressure certainly being cranked up on the road, if Jake Oettinger has another gear in the motor. Stanley Cup Championships are often won on deep lineups, clutch scoring, and great goal tending. While the Minnesota native has certainly been more than serviceable in the first two games of the series, can Oettinger shut down the Avalanche?
Colorado and Dallas drop the puck on Game 3 tonight at 8:30pm CDT, and can be viewed on ESPN and Victory+. Make sure you bookmark THN's Dallas Stars site for the latest news, exclusive interviews, breakdowns, and so much more.
