The Dallas Stars beat the Minnesota Wild 7-2 for their first win at home in 2024 and completed the three game season sweep.

The second of back-to-back meetings for the Dallas Stars and Minnesota Wild ended in another Stars win, but this one looked much different than two nights prior.
The Stars won the last game 4-0 but only after killing off six penalties. However, the Stars managed to clean up their game and only had to kill off two penalties, where they allowed one power-play goal.
After a rough game against the Nashville Predators where Esa Lindell was on ice for all four goals against, Lindell earned second star of the game after a three point night, his first since November 2022.
Lindell is known for his shut-down defense and his ability to play massive minutes on the penalty kill, so this offensive outburst is huge for Dallas with Miro Heiskanen out week-to-week.
All but one of the seven goal were scored from below the dots and closer to the net. The Wild's defense was less than solid, but the Stars made sure to get pucks on net from high-danger areas.
On a night where the Stars offense was firing on all cylinders, the Wild had Jesper Wallstedt, their top AHL prospect and one of the most promising goalie prospects in the league, making hist first NHL start. His team did him no favors and left him to fend for himself against a lethal Stars offense.
It is no secret that Tyler Seguin has found his groove this season with the addition of Matt Duchene to his line, but recently he is on a goal-scoring tear. He has five goals in his last four games.
Among players that have played a minimum of 500 minutes at even strength (5v5), Seguin ranks fifth in the league in points per 60 minutes and third in goals per 60. He is on pace to have 33 goals and 66 points, which would be the most since his 2018-2019 season.
The Stars finished 3-0 against the Wild this season while outscoring them 19-5. Unless the Wild make a significant playoff push, Minnesota will have to wait until next season to end their losing streak against the rival Stars.
