Matt Duchene continues to power the Stars' offense in 5-4 loss in Los Angeles
The Dallas Stars walked into Los Angeles on Friday looking to take the remaining two games of their schedule before the NHL breaks for the 4 Nations Face-Off. Dallas came into the Friday night affair coming off a loss to the Anaheim Ducks in which they were only able to muster one goal on the night. Despite picking up another loss, the Stars flipped the script with a four-goal output, two of which coming from forward Matt Duchene.
Matt Duchene has been the driving force behind the Stars' offense all season, and showed no signs of slowing down on Friday night by notching another three points, two of which came via goal. The veteran forward had been on a roll as of late, rattling off 16 points in the last 17 games. On top of adding three points to his season tally, Duchene also accumulated his 500th career assist after Thomas Harley put home a rebound in the 2 period.
The Stars will hope Duchene ends the first half with a bang as they hope to grab one more win and two points against the San Jose Sharks. Puck drop is scheduled for 9pm CST, and can be viewed on Victory+ and ESPN+.
