The Dallas Stars (19-8-4) will try to win their third game in a row and head into the Christmas break on a positive note against the Nashville Predators (19-14-0).
The Stars are coming off a thrilling 4-3 overtime win against the Vancouver Canucks on Thursday.
Nashville comes into today's matchup, having won three games in a row on the road. They currently occupy the top wildcard spot and sit fourth in the Central Division.
Stars forward Matt Duchene is on a five-game point streak where he's scored nine points (5 goals, 4 assists).
With Jake Oettinger out with a lower-body injury, Stars head coach Pete DeBoer has said the team plans to use backup goalie Scott Wedgewood as much as possible.
"What we're looking at is this an opportunity for Wedgy to take it and run with it and be a starter for a time period," DeBoer said. "I think he's earned that right."
"I'm always ready for this. It's what they pay me for," Wedgewood said. "The best thing is no matter what happens, you get to go again. I haven't been able to have that luxury in the last few years."
Stars projected lines:
Robertson-Hintz-Pavelski
Marchment-Duchene-Seguin
Benn-Johnston-Dadonov
Steel-Faksa-Smith
Suter-Heiskanen
Lindell-Hakanpaa
Harley-Hanley
Wedgewood
Murray
Ty Dellandrea was replaced by Radek Faksa against Vancouver, so expect that to remain the case today.
Puck drop is at 1 p.m. CST and can be seen on Bally Sports Southwest or NHL Network.
