Jason Robertson started the season off slow, but the Dallas Stars forward has found his game as of late.

Jason Robertson started the season off slow, but the Dallas Stars forward has found his game as of late.

Robertson only recorded two goals and six assists in his first ten games, but since then, he has returned to his usual self.

After signing a four-year, $31,000,000 contract with an AAV of $7,750,000, Robertson had a career year, scoring 46 goals and 109 points. Robertson was also a key player for the Stars in their playoff run. He was second on the team in points, scoring seven goals and 18 points in just 19 games.

Robertson's offensive explosion was surprising, but looking at his year-to-year progression, taking another step in his offensive game wasn't. In Robertson's first full season with the Stars, he put up 17 goals and 45 points in 51 games. He scored 41 goals and 79 points in 74 games in his second. A thirty-point difference from the 2021-22 season and the 2022-23 season was a huge jump to take.

It's been noted that Robertson doesn't necessarily have one physical trait about his game that stands out. He's not the fastest or the strongest, and he doesn't have a world-class shot, but Robertson's ability to think the game makes him so successful.

The 24-year-old isn't producing at the 109-point pace he did last year, but Robertson has been hovering around a point per game this season. With 11 goals and 32 points this season, Robertson is on pace to score 27 goals and 79 points.

If Robertson's recent offensive success is any indication, those numbers could be on the rise. Robertson is on a four-game point streak with two goals and three assists. The other positive factor is the recent success of his linemates. Joe Pavelski has been consistent his entire career, and now their centerman, Roope Hintz, has also found his game. Hintz is also riding a four-game point streak.

Despite losing to the Blues on Wednesday, the Stars top line combined for ten shots, five of them coming from Robertson.

Robertson's shooting percentage is at a career-low right now, and if pucks start to find the back of the net more often, the Stars will win more games; in a tight race for the central division, the Stars can use every point they can.
