Trade Deadline Pressure Mounts On Stars After Latest Nils Lundkvist Injury News

Dallas Stars General Manager Jim Nil announced Saturday morning the team was placing Nils Lunkvist on Long-Term Injured Reserve following shoulder surgery. Nil also included that forward Tyler Seguin would also be placed on LTIR after the forward received hip surgery back in December. Following the loss Miro Heiskenan, who is still being evaluated, the pressure will surely ramp up as the Dallas will need to replenish their roster sooner rather than later.

The Dallas Stars began their weekend by announcing that Tyler Seguin and Nils Lundkvist's seasons were officially over, as they were both placed on the Long-Term Injured Reserve. Additionally, Dallas has called up forward Kyle McDonald and defenseman Christian Kyrou from the Texas Stars. Along with the slew of moves, it was announced that Mason Marchment was placed on Injured Reserve.

Now that the Stars are officially down two players for the remaining 15 games, the pressure will build on the Stars to make a trade sooner rather than later if they wish to keep pace in the Western Conference. General Manager Jim Nil will sure to be one of the more aggressive suitors in coming weeks, as the Stars will carry roughly $9 million in cap space

Dallas will be sure to get a head start in the following days, and over the 4 Nations break to bolster their roster before the well dries up before March 7th deadline.
