Episode 11 of THN Detroit's podcast The Silky Mitten State is live!

On this episode, my co-host Connor Earegood and I flip the script on our usual run of show by starting with the NCAA and working our way to the Detroit Red Wings.

We begin by looking ahead to a massive rivalry weekend between Michigan and Michigan State, exploring the unfamiliar feeling of U-M entering the weekend with more to prove than the Spartans.  We touch on the evolving stakes of the rivalry and the relative strengths of the two sides heading into the weekend.

We then dive into a tweet from University of Michigan regent Jordan Acker, in which Acker professes his belief that women's hockey should be the next varsity sport added by the school.  Connor and I discuss the potential excitement of this proclamation, while also highlighting the need for concrete follow-up action steps.

Finally, we move into the Red Wings' current heater—roaming across topics such as the Andrew Copp line's success, Alex Lyon's role in these recent positive results, and the state of the Atlantic playoff race (with a brief digression on the joys of flummoxing the Toronto Maple Leafs).

For a sample of the discussion, here's a brief snippet of what we had to say on the Copp line:
