The Silky Mitten State: Putting Last Week's Losses in Perspective

The Detroit Red Wings have played just ten games, but, because of the emotional weight (both positive and negative) behind a number of those contests, it might feel like at least double that.

There were the highs of the home opening win over the Atlantic Division's resident bullies—the Tampa Bay Lighting—or Alex DeBrincat's hat trick against the Calgary Flames.

Then there was the sinking feeling of a three-game losing skid that threatened to stretch to four with an 0-2 third period deficit on Long Island, only for J.T. Compher and Lucas Raymond to turn that luck around.
