Last night in Grand Rapids, the Griffins suffered a 3-2 overtime loss to the visiting Milwaukee Admirals, bringing the best-of-five Central Division Final series to 2-1 in favor of Milwaukee.  Egor Afanasyev—whom Nashville selected in the second round of the 2019 Draft—undid Grand Rapids with a hat trick, finished off four minutes and 40 seconds into overtime.

William Wallinder and Austin Czarnik scored for the Griffins, with each assisting on the other's goal, while Jonatan Berggren and Albert Johansson also provided assists.  Sebastian Cossa made 27 saves on 30 shots in the losing effort.  After the defeat, Grand Rapids will now face elimination Friday night at Van Andel Arena in what will be a must-win to keep the season alive.

"No flow to the game with all the special teams, and we didn't handle that well mentally," assessed coach Dan Watson after the game.  "By the time the third period rolled around, it was kind of a roll the lines and get everybody involved and get everybody engaged.  I thought we were better.  Usually when that happens, with all the special teams, the guys sit on the bench for long stretches.  That's just the way it rolls, and we couldn't get into it, but we've gotta get off to a better start, just find that emotion, that intensity early on.  We've lacked it now for the last two games."
