Klim Kostin—who hasn't played since suffering an injury in Detroit's December 18th game with the Anaheim Ducks—was a full participant in that practice.

After practice, coach Derek Lalonde said of Kostin, "Obviously a full practice today.  I don't foresee us using him tomorrow.  We'll see how he progresses.  We're going to get another full practice on Friday [and] would like to get him in on the weekend.  Big body, it's amazing when you don't have it for a weeks there, you miss it, so we'd like to get him in on the weekend."

One Red Wing who did not skate was defenseman Jake Walman.  Lalonde revealed that Walman was a "little under the weather," and that the team sent him home this morning to avoid spreading his illness around.  He added that team will re-evaluate Walman's status for Thursday night's game for tomorrow.

Finally, Lalonde provided an update on goaltender Ville Husso—who was also injured in the December 18th game with the Ducks.  Per Lalonde, "Ville's been skating.  Not going down into a butterfly yet, just some basic footwork.  So just a simple step, still probably in that week-to-week range."
