Detroit Red Wings executive Kris Draper was scouting Sunday's contest between the Minnesota Wild and Washington Capitals, two clubs that have been linked to suspended forward Dylan Larkin.

It's been a whirlwind few days for the Detroit Red Wings, who have been dealing with several distracting storylines over the past few months.

One of those storylines came to a head earlier this week when former captain Dylan Larkin's agent informed the club that his client would no longer report to the rink and had "had enough" of his trade request, which dates back to the offseason, not being granted.

The Red Wings responded by suspending Larkin without pay, meaning he will forfeit more than $41,000 for every day he remains suspended. Interim general manager Shawn Horcoff explained that he isn't in a hurry to trade Larkin and is instead focused on finding the right deal, one that best serves the long-term interests of the organization.

As trade rumors surrounding Larkin have intensified, the former captain has remained connected to multiple teams, and the Red Wings have been scouting some of them in recent days.

Red Wings assistant general manager Kris Draper, who now oversees the club's pro scouting duties, was recently reported to have attended multiple Montreal Canadiens games.

Now, he has reportedly been spotted scouting Sunday afternoon's matchup between the Minnesota Wild and Washington Capitals, two more teams that have been linked to Larkin.
