Simon Edvinsson with a rare nonchalant fight at the conclusion of Grand Rapids'6-4 win over the Belleville Senators
When you think about the promise of Simon Edvinsson, you think about his unique combination of size and grace. He's listed at six-foot-six, but his skating and puck skills seem to be lifted off a much smaller man.
At the conclusion of the Grand Rapids Griffins' 6-4 Saturday night win over the Belleville Senators, Edvinsson showed a different side to his combination of power and ease, after Jonatan Berggren scored the empty-net goal to clinch the win.
Edvinsson found himself in the thick of a post-whistle skirmish and proceeded to dominate Belleville's Angus Crookshank (officially listed at 5-foot-10) in a fight that Edvinsson didn't even seem all that interested in.
It takes a special kind of athlete to win a fight in a professional hockey game where the prevailing emotion you give off is apathy, and clearly, Edvinsson is a special athlete.
