2021 Red Wings first round pick Sebastian Cossa 28 saves to pick up his first career AHL shutout in yesterday's Grand Rapids win over the Texas Stars

Last night at Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, Sebastian Cossa—whom the Red Wings selected with the 15th pick in the 2021 NHL Draft—picked up his first ever AHL shutout, making 28 stops in a Griffins win over the visiting Texas Stars.
It was a good night for a shutout from Cossa, as Grand Rapids provided him with exactly one goal of run support, which would prove sufficient thanks to his stout performance in net. 25 seconds into the game, Albert Johansson (a 2019 second round pick of Detroit's) notched the game's first goal, and there would be no more scoring for the remaining 59 minutes and 35 seconds of hockey.
In securing the victory for GR, Cossa extended his team's point streak to 13 games, a stretch in which the Griffins have gone 9-0-2-2. That's the team's longest such streak since 2016, when they won 13 games in a row over a nearly month's long unbeaten spell stretching from February into March. Cossa himself can now claim a seven-game point streak, during which he has a 5-0-2 record.
After a slow start to the season, Cossa has clearly discovered his form at the AHL level. For the season, he has now played 23 games, earning a 2.63 goals against average and .909 save percentage.
With Trey Augustine thriving in East Lansing with Michigan State, the future of the Red Wings goaltending appears in sound hands.
