From The Silky Mitten State: How concerned should Red Wing fans be about Marco Kasper's slow start with the Grand Rapids Griffins?

Through 13 games with the AHL's Grand Rapids Griffins, 2022 Red Wings first round pick Marco Kasper (drafted number eight overall) has just one goal and two assists for three points.

In the above video (an excerpt from THN Detroit's weekly podcast, The Silky Mitten State), Connor Earegood and I assess whether there is any reason for concern about Kasper's slow start to the year in terms of productivity.

The good news is that Kasper's game isn't point-dependent for making an impact.  He is an excellent defensive player, who takes pride in a 200-foot focus.  He's also just 19 years old and playing in his first full season on North American ice, so perhaps a slightly slow start to the season should come as no surprise.  Still, three points in 13 games is obviously less than ideal.

Connor and I weigh in on just how worried Red Wings ought to be in the video featured above.  For the full conversation, check out Episode 4 of the Silky Mitten State on Apple Podcasts or Spotify:
