Babcock Unfazed By Walman's Feelings After Being Scratched

"You should for sure ask him," said Edmonton Oilers head coach Mike Babcock while responding to a question about how defenseman Jake Walman will take being made a healthy scratch. Babcock clearly cares about the players, but in this case, it sounds like he's taking a tough-love approach.

Babcock says Jake Walman is in the wrong spots over and over again and that's why he's not playing tonight as the Oilers meet the Calgary Flames.

Walman was asked. He responded, "It's obviously not fun being out... I've been through some tough times in my career, but they make me stronger. I know that for sure, and I believe in myself. So that's where we are now."

Is this the right approach to be taking if you're Babcock and the Oilers? It seems like the hope is that will actually ruffle some feathers.
