Darnell Nurse Just Won Over Oilers Fans in a Way He Never Could in Edmonton

Now that Darnell Nurse is no longer an Edmonton Oiler, it seems like fans have given themselves permission to like him again. The player who was often made the scapegoat for many of the problems over the past few seasons, Nurse was traded to the San Jose Sharks and after one game, is suddenly a hero.

The reason? He crosschecked Matthew Tkachuk in the back of the head during a game between the Sharks and Florida Panthers.

"You know what maybe I do like Darnell Nurse," wrote one fan. Another said, "Darnell Nurse ROCKS Matthew Tkachuk. Once an Oiler, Always an Oiler."

"Darnell Nurse I’m sorry for anything bad I’ve ever said about you."

The comments went on an on.
