Former Oiler Could Find Home With Red Wings As Late UFA Signing

According to Pierre LeBrun of The Athletic, David Perron is not done in the NHL, and he's looking for a team to sign him this season. The Detroit Red Wings are the former Oilers' most likely option.

LeBrun writes that Perron's agent, Allan Walsh, said, "The 38-year-old UFA winger is awaiting the right fit." He adds that "Perron is actively looking for the right situation for him and his family and is committed to playing this season."

Perron, is skating back home in Sherbrooke, Quebec, staying in shape, and awaiting a call.

He had 13 goals in 65 games split between the Ottawa Senators and the Red Wings last season.

LeBrun notes, "I wouldn’t rule out the Red Wings as a potential reunion fit, but again, Detroit has a few things going on right now."

Don't expect the Oilers to be interested, even though there is talk that they might be looking for a depth forward.
