Penguins Getting Fleeced By Scribe For Hallander Trade to Oilers

The Edmonton Oilers picked up Filip Hallander in a trade on Wednesday, moving Spencer Stastney the other way in a one-for-one deal. While the Penguins were said to be looking for more depth on their blue line, this isn't a trade that's gone over particularly well.
Josh Yohe of The Athletic left room for understanding on why the Penguins made this kind of trade, but was quite critical of the fact they chose Hallander.
He wrote in a recent article: "The Penguins coaching staff likes Hållander. He grabbed everyone’s attention in the preseason and easily surpassed higher-pedigree players in the organization. A week after his outstanding first game, he is a member of the Oilers."
He also added in a series of social posts on X that he was surprised by the decision:
"I'm surprised that Hallander was the forward the Penguins decided to move. They love him. But remember, the other team has a say in this kind of thing also, and I can see why Hallander is a player the Oilers would like.... Personally, I love Hallander and would have had a hard time moving him. But I am not the general manager."
He added, "I like this trade for the Oilers in that Hallander plays the game like an adult. Knows how to be a good bottom six player. They could use some of that in Edmonton. The Penguins coaches love Hallander."
