Edmonton Oilers found themselves hearing a familiar song - but not because they won the game.

EDMONTON -- The Stanley Cup playoffs can bring out the best, and worst in people.

For long stretches of last night's game (particularly the first period) it brought out the best in the Edmonton Oilers. After the first period they dominated the shot clock (16-4) despite coming out of the period in a 1-1 tie. Connor Brown and Jamie Benn were the goal scorers after the first period.

The Oilers only generated 13 shots for the rest of the game as the Dallas Stars took over, firing 21 shots over the last two frames of the hockey game. The would end up winning the game 3-1.
Even though the Oilers lost the game, the Stars made an interesting choice regarding the music being played in the arena after the home team's victory.
Whoever is in charge of the music at American Airlines Center - the Stars home arena - decided to play La Bamba after their team beat the Oilers.
I'm all for this level of pettiness between playoff teams - it's harmless and doesn't hurt anyone (fans or players alike) in any capacity. Perhaps a bruised ego here or there, but nothing to write home about.

It's not known at this time if any of the Oilers players heard that song being played - but if they did, I'm sure it is burning a fire in those players to hear that song being played for a different reason next game.
