EDMONTON -- It all comes down to this.

Game seven of the Stanley Cup Final series between the Edmonton Oilers and the Florida Panthers is tonight. Everything that both teams have been working towards comes down to tonight. Both teams have a desire to win, but which team will execute that dream?

Edmonton Oilers.Edmonton Oilers.

The hockey world waits in anticipation.

Until puck drop happens, here are some of my predictions for what will happen during Game seven.

Predictions

  • First Goal Scored: Connor McDavid. With everything on the line for him I expect him to come out flying. He didn't register a point last game and will be amped for his first Cup clinching game.
  • Regulation or Overtime: Every game this series has been settled in regulation, and I don't see that changing for the final game.
  • Referee Drama: Referees have been a major storyline already during the playoffs. I expect at least one controversial penalty and goal review.
  • Oilers goal scorers: McDavid, Adam Henrique, Cody Ceci
  • Panthers goal scorers: Evan Rodrigues
  • Play of the Game: McDavid pulling off a highlight reel goal in the first 10 minutes of the game.
  • Final Score: 3-1
  • Conn Smythe Trophy: Connor McDavid put the Oilers on his back for Games four and five and he has led the playoff scoring race for the entire postseason. No one else should win it.
  • First Stanley Cup Hand-Off: Ryan Nugent-Hopkins (Oilers), Sergei Bobrovsky (Panthers)

Tonight's telecast of the game will begin at 6:00 PM Mountain time. I expect puck drop to be at around 6:20 PM based off of how the rest of the series has transpired.

All of Canada (and the rest of the hockey world) will be watching.
