The stretch run has begun.
The trade deadline has come and gone, which means every team's roster is locked in for the rest of the season. Now, we'll get our first looks at all the players traded on Friday with their new teams, including Jake Walman with the Edmonton Oilers and Mikko Rantanen with the Dallas Stars.

All the intrigue on the Oilers' side comes on defense, where Walman will make his Oiler debut on the third pair next to Troy Stecher. It's an easy start for the newest Oiler, who's accustomed to eating huge minutes against top competition in Detroit and San Jose.
The Oilers' blueline is still in flux as Mattias Ekholm and John Klingberg deal with nagging injuries. It wouldn't be surprising to see Walman get some time next to Evan Bouchard on the top pair, as head coach Kris Knoblauch plays with the defensive pairs in Ekholm's absence.

Edmonton will stick with the same forward lines that led them to an overtime win over Montreal on Thursday, with new arrival Max Jones sticking around on the fourth line as Jeff Skinner spends another night in the press box.
The Stars, meanwhile, will debut their own newest player: Mikko Rantanen. He'll make his Stars debut against a team that nearly acquired him on Friday, the fourth time he'll face the Oilers this season on his third different team.
Rantanen will start on Dallas' top line, next to Jason Robertson and Roope Hintz. After struggling to start the season without Joe Pavelski on their wing, Robertson and Hintz are now flanked by another future Hall of Famer.
This will be a huge test for the Oilers, going up against the new team to beat in the West while hoping that their own additions are enough.
Stuart Skinner and Jake Oettinger take the nets for the Oilers and Stars tonight at 8:00 p.m. MT, on Sportsnet.
