Connor McDavid scored the game winning goal for the Edmonton Oilers against the St. Louis Blues.

The Hockey News writers voted Connor McDavid most likely to win the Art Ross, Hart, and Maurice Richard Trophies.

EDMONTON -- So he did decide to score. Connor McDavid scored the overtime winner against the St. Louis Blues. He notched his 22nd of the year with 26 seconds left in the extra frame.

With that goal his goal-less streak ends at 10 games - he's never had more than 10 games in-between scoring goals.

When talking about the game winner, McDavid let his sense of humor shine through. "Not much time left. I was tired, Ek [Mattias Ekholm] was tired. I kept giving it back to him. I felt bad for him, he's just trying to get off the ice."

"I just tried to give it one last dash."

McDavid went into a bit more detail of what was going through his mind when he was approaching the net. With no other options, he decided to shoot the puck himself, "there was no one to pass to. I thought Hym's [Zach Hyman] would be on the backside. He quit on the play I guess."

This came on the heels of McDavid's memorable comments to the media earlier in the week. Specifically when he talked about "not shooting the puck again."

There was a sense that tonight would be the night for McDavid - that his goal-less streak would end at 10. It appears he was thinking the same thing.
