EDMONTON – Corey Perry is a pest.

And pests get under people’s skin.

The Edmonton Oilers forward certainly got under goaltender Jordan Binnington’s skin on Wednesday night. It was water under the bridge as the Oilers secured two points with a 4-3 final score.

Perry doesn’t play a ton of minutes. The minutes he plays are undoubtedly impactful, as he’s not afraid to put his stamp on a game.

In speaking with the media after the game, Connor Brown reacted to Perry mixing it up with Binnington.

“I just love it,” Brown chuckled. “I just love watching him (Perry) go to work. Whether he’s mixing it up or he’s dangling behind the net, he’s just a fun guy to watch.”

“A fun guy to be teammates with.”

    Brown then talked about Binnington.

“That was a healthy left hand he gave him,” Brown said, “it was a bit of a melee after that.”

Yes, Connor Brown, it certainly was.

Corey Perry Impactful In Oilers' Victory

After that incident, Binnington received two two-minute roughing penalties, while Perry received a two-minute penalty for goaltender interference and his fighting major.

It wasn’t a high-flying or high-scoring game by any stretch. But, the Oilers stuck with it and grounded out a win. They will take that any day of the week when they are missing two of their three best centers.

There’s no doubt that Perry provides this team a spark. He’s also been able to find the scoresheet in a depth role, providing 16 goals while averaging less than 12 minutes a night.
