EDMONTON – Let’s face it, it was never going to happen.
Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid was never going to become a member of the Toronto Maple Leafs. And now that the Maple Leafs' window of Stanley Cup Contention has slammed shut, it’s time for Leafs fans to come to terms with that truth.

EDMONTON – What’s better than beating a rival once?
McDavid is active in the community. He regularly visits schools and hospitals and attends special events throughout Edmonton.
His wife, Lauren Kyle, has also impacted the city and organization. With her business savvy and keen eye for design, she’s spearheaded a new line of Oilers apparel and is set to open a new bar/establishment in the city.
Leon Draisaitl and McDavid go together like Batman and Robin. They push each other to become better players while giving space to each other to allow their personalities to shine.
When a big moment or milestone happens during a game, they often flock to each other first to celebrate. They have been through a lot in their time with the Oilers and have obviously leaned on each other for support.
The biggest reason McDavid won’t ever join the Maple Leafs is simple: the Oilers have had more success than the Maple Leafs.
The Oilers are preparing for their third Western Conference Final in four years. Last year, they were one win away from hoisting the Stanley Cup.
Since McDavid joined the league, the Oilers have won nine playoff rounds, while the Maple Leafs have won two. He wants to win, and the Oilers have done a much better job of that than the Maple Leafs.
