Although this position is not new, how they got here is. Instead of their superstars going supernova, the likes of Kasperi KapanenCorey Perry, and Connor Brown have been contributing to the team’s success—at least, more so than in years past.

So, the line combinations heading into the 2025 Western Conference Finals shouldn’t surprise anyone as they wait for the winner of the Dallas Stars vs. Winnipeg Jets series.

    Oilers Forward Line Combinations

    RNH - McDavid - Hyman

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Connor McDavid, and Zach Hyman have been one of the most consistent line combinations the Oilers have had all season. Reuniting them in the playoffs has been a huge help to the team.

    Podkolzin - Draisaitl - Kapanen

Leon Draisaitl took the task of shutting down Jack Eichel as seriously as he does scoring goals. The result was back-to-back games of zero points for both Eichel and the Vegas Golden Knights. He will continue to have Kapanen and Vasily Podkolzin as his wingers.

    Kane - Henrique - Arvidsson

The only change in the lineup was Brown's absence from the third line (he was not on the ice). Alongside Evander Kane and Adam Henrique was Viktor Arvidsson. Once head coach Kris Knoblauch speaks to the media after practice, we will discover if there is an injury or if it's just a maintenance day.

    Frederic - Janmark - Perry

The trio of Trent Frederic, Mattias Janmark, and Corey Perry has provided a lot of jam for the Oilers. Look for that to continue against the Jets or Stars.

    Oilers Defense Pairings

    Kulak - Bouchard

Brett Kulak has been playing the best hockey of his entire career this year. His performances in the regular season and the playoffs have been tremendous, and he will continue to be paired with Evan Bouchard.

    Nurse - Stecher

When Troy Stecher was injected into the lineup, he was paired with Darnell Nurse. Before then, Bouchard was the most common partner for Nurse. The combination didn’t work (for whatever reason) which makes keeping this pairing together all the more important.

    Walman - Klingberg

The two newest members of the Oilers, Jake Walman and John Klingberg, make up the team's third pairing. The combination of skill, assertiveness, and puck management skills makes this one of the best third pairings the Oilers have ever seen.

Stuart Skinner was in the starter's net while Olivier Rodrigue occupied the backup net. Jeff Skinner, Max Jones, Derek Ryan, Ty Emberson, and Josh Brown were all on the ice as extras.
