EDMONTON -- Summer is full of surprises.

Fortunately for Edmonton Oilers fans, the summer is over. The Oilers closed out their pre-season schedule with a 4-1 loss to the Vancouver Canucks. Now that those games are out of the way, the team can focus on getting into game shape for Wednesday's season opener against the Winnipeg Jets.

Before then, Connor McDavid will reveal something new to the world.

The Oilers captain shared a photo on Instagram. In the image, he is wearing a chef's apron while holding tongs. The caption, "From the rink to the kitchen is under the photo. See what's cooking up on Oct. 7th."

The most interesting part of the photo is what is written on the apron. At the top right, the word "McDavids" is written.

It's easy to make assumptions about what this could mean. McDavid opening a new restaurant would be one of the most exciting options.

It could also be anything kitchen-related, which gives fans endless possibilities. One humorous option could be his own line of ketchup—one that he isn't afraid of.

Of course, that was one of the many revelations revealed during the premiere of Faceoff: Inside the NHL. McDavid's now-wife revealed that her new husband is "scared of ketchup."

Either way, everyone must wait until Monday to see what McDavid is cooking.
