Worldwide, fans can finally watch the new Amazon series about their favorite hockey players. Faceoff: Inside the NHL premieres today, and everyone who has ever been interested in hockey should watch it.
Edmonton Oilers fans should take a keen interest in the series. Episodes 5 and 6 heavily feature Oilers players. Episode 5 follows Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl, and Zach Hyman, while the final episode focuses on Matthew Tkachuk and McDavid.
Having seen those episodes, here are the top five Oilers-related moments from the series.
Everyone knows that Draisaitl and McDavid are great friends.
That makes this light-hearted moment stand out and puts a smile on your face. The production crew follows Draisaitl when he attends a meet-and-greet at a local Sportchek in Edmonton. While there, one of the kids in the audience asks the perfect question.
"Is Connor your best friend?" the kid says.
Everyone in the crowd, along with Draisaitl, laughs at the query before confirming the answer that everyone already knows.
"Connor is one of my best friends, yah," Draisaitl responds.
The clip that burned through social media like wildfire - McDavid is venting his frustration to his teammates.
In anticipation of today's release, an extended clip of McDavid yelling at his teammates was published yesterday.
This was one of the most intense moments in the entire series. No one in the public has ever heard McDavid like this. This glimpse behind (typically) closed doors is what you only hear about. Yet, it's one of the greatest gifts this series offers fans; McDavid's humanity on full display.
Surprise, surprise: McDavid has a personal chef, Sheridan. McDavid says having him around is "the best money I spend all year." He praises his nutrition knowledge and sees it as a way to increase his longevity.
"Connor is afraid of ketchup," McDavid's now-wife Lauren reveals in the series. McDavid smirks as she says this. She also reveals that Sheridan sneakily brings her ketchup whenever they eat.
While no one says why he's scared of it, the reveal itself is enough to add to McDavid's mythology.
Draisaitl has earned himself a reputation.
He is never afraid to speak his mind, and it has made for some interesting exchanges with the media over the years. He addresses this during Episode 5.

"I think a lot of people think I'm always grumpy," Draisaitl explains through a smirk, "which is probably a little true - there's probably something to it."
"I wanted to be in a market where hockey is celebrated and a big part of the community. (It) obviously means the world to me."
This is where you see the heartbreak. After the Stanley Cup Final loss in Game 7, the series gives you the first moments after they enter the locker room.
These are the opening shots of the episode. Everyone was sitting around, frozen with disappointment.
Then you see it.
For all the emotion you don't see from McDavid, he pours it out here. The months of grinding away, of being so close to his childhood dream, are gone in an instant when the final buzzer sounds and the team comes up short.
This extended clip seen in the tweet above is from the last few minutes of Episode 6. The emotion on display is gut-wrenching.
If you have been reading this and have not watched the series, go to your TV and stream it now.
