Edmonton Oilers’ captain Connor McDavid is surrounded by talent on Team Canada. The team is preparing for the championship game as part of the 4 Nations Face-off.

To make things even more exciting, they are playing against Team USA. The only team to beat them in regulation during the round-robin portion of the tournament.

And the team they had three fights in nine seconds against.

On Wednesday, after practice, McDavid spoke to the media about his two newest linemates, Brayden Point and Mark Stone. He described what it is like playing with them and what they bring to the table.

“He’s a great skater first and foremost,” McDavid stated about Point. “He flies around the ice. Really, really smart player too. He’s a great player.”

“Stony is as smart of a player as I’ve seen out there,” McDavid revealed. “A big man who wins battles, (he) goes to the net, great along the wall.”

This is quite a glowing endorsement from McDavid. Stone’s style of play resembles Zach Hyman, who has been a fixture beside the center over the last two seasons.

On the other hand, Point draws some similarities with Ryan Nugent-Hopkins. Both are smart players who skate well.

All eyes will be on the game tonight. Despite the relatively low 3-1 final score from the last meeting of these teams, I wouldn’t expect this game to be without spectacle.

The game will be broadcast on Sportsnet at 6 PM Mountain Time.
