EDMONTON -- Drake is not afraid to let money do the talking, and in this case he's talking about the Edmonton Oilers.

The Canadian-born rapper has some thoughts on two sports playoff series that are about to get underway - the NBA finals and the Stanley Cup Final.

He revealed his picks via an Instagram post. He shared screenshots for the two bets that he placed. For the NBA, he put down $500,000 for the Dallas Mavericks to beat the Boston Celtics. In his caption he listed his reason as, "Dallas because I'm a Texan."

His second bet was for the Oilers to beat the Florida Panthers in the Cup Final. Drake placed another $500,000 on this wager.

"Oilers are self explanatory," he wrote.

In other words, it's the (hockey) God's plan.

If both bets go through for Drake, he's looking at a $2.4-million pay out. He can certainly afford some "Hotline Bling" with that kind of cash.

Drake made headlines in recent months regarding an open beef with fellow rapper Kendrick Lamar. The two exchanged multiple diss tracks aimed at the other artist.

On Wednesday morning these tracks were removed from Drake's Instagram posts with no explanation.

The Oilers are traveling to Florida today. Tomorrow will be a media day in preparation for Game one to kick off on Saturday at 6 PM Mountain time.

It's time to see what the hockey gods have in store for fans.
