All goals look the same on the scoresheet, whether it's your first of the year or 50th.

While the Edmonton Oilers attempt to win their last game before an extended break against the New York Rangers, the Chicago Blackhawks fell to the Philadelphia Flyers in overtime.

One of the reasons the game went into overtime was because of a goal scored by former Oilers tough guy Pat Maroon. He scored his first goal of the season halfway through the second period of the contest.

The Blackhawks would lose to the Flyers 3-2 in the extra frame.

Maroon finished the game with one goal, one assist, and two hits in 14:06 of time on the ice. So far this year, he has six points in 18 games, averaging 11:54 per game.

The 36-year-old forward witnessed his best offensive season while playing for the Oilers. In the 2016-17 season, he scored 27 goals and had 15 assists for a total of 42 points while skating 16:44 a game.

Maroon is still a tough customer. He participated in six fights last year and already has two fighting majors this season.
