EDMONTON – The more things change, the more they stay the same.

The Edmonton Oilers know a thing or two about change. The Oilers love change so much that their line combinations are in a constant blender.

One former Oilers forward who experienced some change this year is none other than Dylan Holloway. The prized draft selection found himself signing an offer sheet, and when that offer sheet wasn’t matched, Holloway was forced to face the music.

Now, there might be some regret surrounding the entire situation. On June 7th, Holloway changed his representation.

Blake Robson of the Dynasty Hockey Group no longer represents him. Holloway has hired Judd Moldaver to take over as his player agent.

Why Is Dylan Holloway Changing His Agent A Big Deal?

Hockey players don’t change their agents every day. So the rarity of it makes it a notable development. Whenever a player makes a move like this, there is always a reason (even if they don’t publicly admit the real reason).

It’s possible that Holloway wanted a new voice in his world, and that’s the reason for the change. It’s also likely that he felt his current agent did all that they could, so he needed to make a change in his team to get to another level in his career.

It’s also possible that he didn’t want to go to the St. Louis Blues, and he signed the offer sheet as a negotiation tactic – which then blew up in his face.

What Makes This Change Surprising And/Or New?

With that in mind, why Holloway made this change isn’t as surprising as the who. By who, I mean who his new agent also represents.

Moldaver is the agent for Connor Brown and Connor McDavid

This could be purely coincidental. However, that doesn’t stop this news from being the least bit curious and interesting.

Holloway enjoyed the best year of his career with the Blues. He recorded 63 points in 77 games while averaging 16:49 per game.

Holloway changing agents could lead to nothing. Or, this change is a sign of more changes to come.
