One win separates the City of Champions team from a second consecutive appearance in the Stanley Cup Finals. What a world.

It’s been an unforgettable journey for the team and the fans. But it’s not over yet, they still need to deal with the Dallas Stars.

The Oilers can’t take the Stars lightly – especially on the road, where the Stars will have their home crowd behind them.

If The Oilers Are Victorious, Here’s Who They Will Play & When

Should the Oilers close out the series tonight, we know who they will play next. The Florida Panthers defeated the Carolina Hurricanes in Game 5 of their series on Wednesday night. They walked away with a 5-3 victory to punch their ticket to a third consecutive Finals appearance.

Thanks to some excellent reporting from Elliotte Friedman, we now know when. Friedman reported on X last night, that if the Oilers win on Thursday night, the Stanley Cup Final will begin on June 4th. If the Stars win, it will begin June 7th.

This makes sense for if the Oilers win. It makes even more sense if the Stars win. If the Stars force Game 6 and lose, the Oilers would get six non-playing days before the next game. If the Stars force Game 7 (played on June 2nd) and lose, the Oilers would still get a few days off before needing to play the Panthers.

When & Where To Watch Game 5 Of Oilers vs Stars

Tonight’s game will be broadcast at 6:00 PM Mountain Time. Watch it on ESPN, TVA Sports, CBC, and Sportsnet.
