Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers have been counted out before.
EDMONTON -- "It's not over till it's over"

That's part of the message that Connor McDavid wants to send to Edmonton Oilers' fans. Despite being down 3-0 in the Stanley Cup Final to the Florida Panthers, McDavid is taking things one game at a time.
Losing a game of this magnitude is obviously disappointing.
"I don't know how you want me to answer that," the disappointment saturates the captain's response. "What's the most disappointing thing? Being down by three."
The Oilers just need one to breathe new life into the series. To breathe life into a team that has been counted out before. A team that defied the Thanksgiving Playoff rule. The team that was 31st out of 32 teams in the NHL.

The team that battled through three different playoff opponents to reach the highest stage. Right now they face their biggest obstacle yet, the Panthers.
It's not over till it's over.
They could become the 21st team to get swept in the Stanley Cup Final. They could also become the second team to claw back from a 3-0 deficit just to lose Game seven.
Or they could become the second team to win the Stanley Cup after being down 3-0 in the series.
Stuart Skinner understands the duality of the situation. The magnitude of the loss combined with the pursuit of greatness, "It's disappointing being down 3-0, we've gotta let that reality sink in. I'm not too sure what the stats are coming back on it, [but] if anyone can do it it's the Oil."

McDavid was asked what his message to the fans would be. This was his response, "keep cheering. Just keep cheering, it's not over till it's over."
For everyone watching the series might be over. But to the players in the locker room it's far from over.
It's not over till it's over.
