The Edmonton Oilers held the first round of interviews with the media to cap off the season. Many players and head coach Kris Knoblauch spoke to the media and revealed their thoughts on the recent playoff run.
Things opened up with Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl, but then finished with the head coach. Knoblauch opened his availability talking about a few of the injuries sustained by the Oilers top players (McDavid, Draisaitl and Evander Kane).
He opened up talking about what was ailing McDavid, "with Connor's I'm not sure what the process is going to be and how bad it was. I don't have very much information."
From there he moved on to the different things affecting Draisaitl, "things throughout the playoffs, ribs, hands." It was so bad at times that they weren't sure whether or not he would play, "certain times it was worse than others. There was games where wasn't sure if he was going to play. But he fought through it and played very well in those games."
The McDavid and Draisaitl injuries were first reported by Oilersnation on Tuesday.
Lastly, Knoblauch discussed Kane's situation a bit, "Evander obviously with the sports hernia - something that's been bothering him throughout the season. (It) got to the point where it just limited his game and unfortunately we missed him."
