The intensity of the game, the pace, and the pain that players endure are all amplified in the postseason. Especially the Cup Final.

Before suiting up against the Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday night, Matthew Tkachuk made a bold claim.

"We have a chance to capture the biggest goal of our lives tonight. We're gonna go do that," Tkachuk told reporters on Tuesday morning. The Oilers then won the game 4-3.

After the game, former Oilers' enforcer Georges Laraque called Tkachuk out on his "Mark Messier-esque" guarantee. He took to Twitter to share:

"Why doesn't anyone talk about Tkachuk who said they would win game 5?" Laraque began his tweet. "Bruh, don't try to copy Messier!"

"You will chew on that mouthpiece for awhile!"

Leave it to a fan favorite like Laraque to humorously mock Tkachuk. It's fair to suggest that Laraque has quite a bit of experience with trash talking over his 13-year NHL career.

The Panthers weren't able to get it done at home. Now they are being dragged back to Edmonton to attempt to close it out in front of a rowdy Rogers Place crowd.

They say that the fourth win in a series is the hardest to secure. Tkachuk and the Panthers are learning that the hard way.
