Connor McDavid has etched his name beside Wayne Gretzky, Mario Lemieux and Bobby Orr.

EDMONTON -- The San Jose Sharks probably want to forget this one.

Just knowing that the Edmonton Oilers were getting Connor McDavid back tonight sent chills down the spines of every Sharks player - and for good reason too. McDavid came into the game with 99 assists and 31 goals.

After missing the past three games with a "nagging" injury - he certainly didn't look like he missed any time at all.
He opened the scoring for the game - notching his 32nd goal of the season. It was his first shift in the first period, 53 seconds into the game.

Then he did something that hasn't been done in 33 seasons - he recorded his 100th assist of the season. He becomes just the fourth player in the history of the NHL to register 100 assists in a season.
Wayne Gretzky, Mario Lemieux and Bobby Orr are the only other players to achieve that milestone. That is legendary company to keep.
Congratulations McDavid on this monumental accomplishment.
