The Edmonton Oilers sent down a player that shouldn't have been with the team.

Edmonton Oilers should call up Ben Gleason to be the team's seventh defenseman over Philip Broberg.

The Edmonton Oilers are looking good recently, and a huge part of that is the improved play from the defenders. Additionally, the Oilers have not suffered any significant injuries at this point of the season.

Over the past few days there has been talk of the Oilers shopping Philip Broberg. This was denied by management but one thing is clear - the player and/or his agent are not happy that he's been recalled to watch games from the press box.

The move today is an attempt to rectify this error - in addition to save a bit of face in regards to all of the Broberg news that's happened recently. Additionally, it's also good for Broberg. As long as he plays 22+ minutes a night in all situations.

Philip Broberg.Philip Broberg.
