Yesterday, I stated that it would make sense for the Oilers to claim him. My argument was that the Bakersfield Condors don’t have any left-handed defenders in their ranks. Plucking Dermott off of waivers would immediately put him in the top pairing on the left side. Additionally, it gives them another warm body to call up should injuries arise.
