Kasperi Kapanen and Alec Regula were both acquired on waivers. However, the Oilers have also lost numerous players from waivers. Raphael Lavoie and Travis Dermott were both claimed off of waivers by other teams this year.

Now one of them finds themselves in a familiar position.

Left-handed defender Dermott is once again on waivers. He was put on waivers by the Oilers on December 12th, 2024. Since then, the Minnesota Wild has claimed him.
