The Edmonton Oilers had a record-setting night.
The Edmonton Oilers defeated the Montreal Canadiens 2-1 in overtime on Saturday night. Evan Bouchard won the game in the extra frame.

With that win the Oilers now have a 23-15-1 record on the season. That's good for 47 points and seventh overall in the Western Conference. They are now one point away from being tied with the third place team in the Pacific Division - the Los Angeles Kings.
Additionally, the Oilers have now officially done something the Wayne Gretzky-led teams could never do - they've won 10 games in a row.

The dynasty of the 1980's were masters of winning six, seven and eight games in a row. Somehow with the firepower of Gretzky, Jari Kurri, Mark Messier and Paul Coffey they were not able to ever win 10 straight games in the regular season.
It's also the first time in the current regular season that a team has strung together a win streak of 10 games. It's been an incredible turnaround for the team considering the 2-9-1 start to the season that they had.

They travel back to Edmonton, where they prepare to face the Toronto Maple Leafs on Tuesday January 16th. It will be their first game against each other this season.
