The Edmonton Oilers showed more "Hart" than the Philadelphia Flyers in their 5-2 win over the visiting team.

Edmonton Oilers goalie Stuart Skinner cannot be relied on for 70+ starts this year. The last goalie to do that for the Oilers - or any other team - was 2016-17 Cam Talbot.

The Edmonton Oilers have put together a nice stretch of games. With their recent win they are now on a six game winning streak. Furthermore, they improve their record to 19-15-1.

Having won their 19th game of the season they find themselves one point outside of the last Wild Card Position - presently occupied by the Arizona Coyotes. The Oilers have a game in hand on the Coyotes and three games in hand over the seventh place Nashville Predators.

Connor McDavid had himself a five point night, factoring in on all of the goals that the Oilers scored tonight. He scored one goal and had four primary assists. You could tell from the outset of the game that McDavid was getting the win (and 900 career points) come hell or high water.

Carter Hart has had himself a respectable season. The Sherwood Park born goaltender has solid numbers this year with a 2.66 goals against average (GAA) to go with a .912 save percentage (SV%).

Tonight was a night that Hart will want to put behind him before he leaves the rink. Five goals on 36 shots doesn't give him flattering stats for the game. However, if it wasn't for Hart the Flyers would have been in a world of hurt.

The Oilers are in action again on Saturday night against the Ottawa Senators as part of Hockey Night in Canada. Game time will be 8 PM Mountain.
