Failed negotiations send the breakout netminder to free agency as Edmonton pivots toward high-profile targets like Sergei Bobrovsky and Devon Levi to solidify their crease.
According to a report from Mark Spector of Sportsnet, "Connor Ingram goes to market."
There was talk that he might re-sign with the Oilers after a strong 2025-26 season, but Spector adds, "Negotiations with Oilers not fruitful. Would have liked to have remained an Oiler."
"This tells us Oilers have settled elsewhere on a netminder," says Spector.
There have been a few names linked to the Oilers, including Elvis Merzlikins, Devon Levi, Michael DiPietro and pending UFA Sergei Bobrovsky.
Spector also notes not to rule out Kasperi Kapanen and the Oilers quite yet. "Still ongoing conversations between the two sides."
