The Edmonton Oilers are on the hunt for something to save their season. While they aren't officially out of the playoff race - things are most certainly dire.
Connor McDavid.Leon Draisaitl and Connor McDavid are two of the best offensive players in the NHL. This beginning portion of the season has been an anomaly. Draisaitl leads the team with 22 points in 17 games. McDavid scoring at a point per game place with 15 points in 15 games.
Despite the point pace, McDavid doesn't completely look 100% while he's on the ice. Could a new player acquisition help McDavid look more like himself?
Enter Patrick Kane.
Patrick Kane.According to Frank Seravalli, Kane has yet to narrow down the host of teams he is considering signing with. A couple weeks ago we reported that the Oilers were on Kane's list. No one has determined that they are officially out of the he running.
The opportunity to play with either Draisaitl or McDavid should be enough to make any free agent fill in Edmonton as a potential destination. The biggest roadblock in this kind of signing is cap space. The Oilers would need to trade someone away to clear up space to sign Kane.
Patrick Kane.Adding Kane would certainly fill out the depth on the Oilers. He has offense left in the tank and if he comes to the Oilers that might add some fuel to Draisaitl and McDavid's tanks.
