Edmonton Oilers play the St. Louis Blues tonight as the trade deadline approaches.

Edmonton Oilers have the second fewest goals scored against them all season.

EDMONTON -- Pavel Buchnevich may be on the forefront of Edmonton Oilers fans' minds, getting a second win in a row is on the forefront of Connor McDavid's mind.

The last time the Oilers captain scored a goal was in the team's first game back from the All-Star break - against the Vegas Golden Knights. He has gone 10 games without a goal heading into tonight's game against the St. Louis Blues.

Projected Forward Lines

Zach Hyman - Connor McDavid - Leon Draisaitl

McDavid's 10 game goal-less streak is tied for the longest of his career. If I were a betting man, I'd almost guarantee that McDavid scores tonight. You can't hold a good man down for long.

Evander Kane - Ryan Nugent-Hopkins - Mattias Janmark

Evander Kane needs to find his game. It's understandable that he has a longer leash for the power forward - but something has got to give. He has to up his intensity and pace to remain in the Oilers top-six. If he has a bad period, I wouldn't be surprised to see him moved down the lineup.

If that is the case, I'd like to see a line of Ryan McLeod, Warren Foegele and Nugent-Hopkins to see what kind of damage they can inflict.

Warren Foegele - Ryan McLeod - Corey Perry

This line has the makings to be very effective. They have speed, tenacity, and multiple players with a nose for the net. McLeod and Foegele have played on a line together quite a bit. Hopefully they find their groove as a unit in this game.

Dylan Holloway - Derek Ryan - Connor Brown

Will tonight be the night that Connor Brown finally scores his first goal with the Oilers? It would certainly make for a good story if he did - especially if McDavid breaks his goal-less drought in the same game.

I can see the headlines now, "Twice the Connor's Twice the Goals."

Defense Pairings

Mattias Ekholm - Evan Bouchard

Darnell Nurse - Cody Ceci

Brett Kulak - Vincent Desharnais

Evan Bouchard will look to continue his offensive breakout this year. He's already broken his career highs for goals and assists - and is on pace for the best season by an Oilers defenseman not named Paul Coffey.
