At least it hasn't stopped for New York Rangers forward Matt Rempe. The 6-foot-7 241 lbs rookie began his NHL career in the 2023-24 season. He scored his first goal, while also earning a scrappy reputation.
In 17 games he participated in five fights. He threw his hands in the AHL as well, with seven fights and eight goals in 43 games for the Hartford Wolf Pack.
It appears that Rempe is preparing himself for more fights in the 2024-25 season. Yesterday, Edmonton Oilers alum Georges Laraque shared a post on Twitter regarding Rempe.
In his tweet he said, "I'm training Matt Rempe and Tyrel Bauer for hockey fighting, this week in Edmonton, at the Silent Ice arena. If you thought Rempe was a problem this year in the NHL, wait till you see him this coming season."
Rempe earned a reputation for being a tough customer. Him going into his second season with most people already knowing his scrappy nature puts a target on his back. Everyone in the league knows who he is and what he brings.

It's wise of Rempe to be prepared for what could be coming his way. He's a big body who isn't afraid to throw his weight around. Let's hope that he can carve a role as a good secondary scorer and not just a brute.
