Evander Kane has been helping 10-year old cancer patient Cecily Eklund cross off items on her bucket list.

Cancer affects us all in one degree or another. It is heartbreaking when children receive the devastating diagnosis. This off season Edmonton Oilers' forward Evander Kane has been spending time with Cecily Eklund, a 10-year old cancer survivor Philanthropist.

Cecily was diagnosed with brain cancer four years ago and has been raising money for the Ben Stelter Fund. She has raised over $175,000 for the fund to date. She was gifted with tickets to go to an Oilers' playoff game against the Los Angeles Kings in California.

That experience resulted in terrible behavior directed at her from Kings' fans in the stands. After Kane called out that terrible behavior out on twitter many Kings' fans online took to donating to her fundraiser, displaying good character. Since then, Kane has been helping Cecily cross items off of her bucket list.

One item crossed off of her list was going to a football game. Kane and Cecily were able to attend the home opening Edmonton Elks football game at Commonwealth Stadium. The Elks didn't win but it was a memorable experience for the young Philanthropist.
