The young forward signed a two-year contract on July 1st.

The Edmonton Oilers continued adding to the team's depth chart with their newest signing. They have agreed to terms with Lane Pederson.
Pederson was signed to a two-year two-way contract valued at $775,000. This makes the most sense for Pederson due to his limited time in the NHL last year.
During the 2022-23 season he played 27 games in the NHL recording 6 points between the Vancouver Canucks and the Columbus Blue Jackets. In the AHL he tallied 24 points in 22 games. That was split between the Abbotsford Canucks and Chicago Wolves.

Ken Holland told the press that he sees Pederson is the #1 center in Bakersfield, at worst. He will be given an opportunity to make the team out of training camp. If he doesn't make the team out of camp, he will be one of the first call ups when injury strikes.
